The author focused on a cast of characters that enjoy good development and who are struggling to navigate the battle between good and bad. There are different types of them, but they are equally well-thought-out and crafted and they contribute very well to the plot and to the entire reading experience. Written in the first person singular, the story is instantly appealing and memorable. The dialogues mingled in between help a lot to follow the story along. This book is warm, playful and acutely perceptive. For me, it is one of the books of the year.
